It is almost Easter and Thomas FX is blowing out all of its Spring & Easter display merchandise at prices that are dramatically below cost.

These items are the remnants of a number of containers that we brought in a couple of years ago for our US retail display customers and are of a very high quality.

Unfortunately, we need the warehouse space for other merchandise and are blowing these display products out well below our cost.

We have been making quite a few changes to our website navigation lately, and more changes are on the way. 

At Thomas FX we are constantly listening to customer feedback and looking for opportunities to enhance our customers' experience while visiting our website, and purchasing from our online store. 

You will notice that all special effects equipment, new / used / rentals, has been consolidated under the new left navigation category Special Effects Equipment. 

All of our contact lens categories have likewise been consolidated under the new left navigation category of Theatrical Contact Lenses. 

The left navigation category of Visual Display has been eliminated and all products previously offered for sale under this category are now for sale under Closeout Specials .

Likewise, Books Gear & Gak items are now also available only under closeout specials. The Books Gear & Gak left nav category has been eliminated. 

A new sub category has been added to the Blood & Makeup FX category . . . Glow In The Dark Makeup . 

All of these changes are designed to make it easier to find what you are looking for.

Thomas FX is officially SOLD OUT of our inventory of Christmas Decorations.

Having had a strong Christmas selling season, we decided to bundle up all of the remaining Christmas inventory in our store and donate it to North Vancouver's Lions Gate Hospital.

Hopefully our gift will be used to brighten up some of the Hospital wards this Christmas.

We are grateful for the great work done in our Community by Lions Gate and the dedicated staff who work there. Every day they save lives and they make a positive difference in our community.

Wednesday is our last full day before our annual Holiday break. 

Wednesday is also the second last day of our annual Year End Clearance Sale.

So literally, The End Is Near.

Thursday will be our last day of work in 2013, and it will be a short day for us.

We will be in the office on Thursday from 8:00 am until 11:30 am, then heading out for Christmas Lunch. 

We will be back in the office from 1:30 until 4:00 for the annual Thomas FX Christmas Open House. Christmas Cheer will be served to all those who drop by.

Thomas FX will be closed from December 20 and will reopen in the New Year on January 6.

Emergency Service will be available during this period for film professionals only.

The pace at Thomas FX, and Thomas Studios, continues to be more than hectic as we approach our annual Holiday shutdown. 

Last week, a Hallmark production crew was busy at Thomas Studios filming a portion of a movie called "In My Dreams". 

The Hallmark crew was great to work with . . . Thanks Everyone!

This week Thomas Studios is hosting a film crew from Sweden. They are shooting segments for a film about an old Finnish folk hero.

Here is where it gets very interesting. One of the stars of the film is a live polar bear!

In 1994 Thomas FX was involved in the filming of a feature film called Alaska. Charlton Heston starred in the film and his son Fraser Heston was the Director. Betty Thomas was the Stunt Coordinator on the film.

Alaska also featured a polar bear cub named "Aggie" . . . the same polar bear, now fully grown, that will be working in Thomas Studios this week.

Recently Thomas FX obtained Patents for its artificial Sno-FX! product from the American and Canadian Patent Offices. 

The story broke this week when Vancouver's North Shore Outlook did a story about us and ran our photo on the covers of both their North Vancouver and West Vancouver publications.

We were also considered by the Motion Picture Academy for an Academy Award Nomination for our artificial snow a few years ago.

Not all Halloween contacts are safe to wear.

Some contacts can cause eye irritation, and in extreme cases partial blindness. 

Having said that, ALL of the Halloween contact lenses sold by Thomas FX are FDA Approved and safe to wear for most people. 

If you order Halloween contacts from us online we will enclose an information sheet on the wear and care of Halloween contact lenses. 

Customers who come into our store to purchase Halloween contacts will receive the same information and will be required to sign a form acknowledging that they have received the care instructions. 

We sell Halloween Contact Lenses for $59.99 a pair. These include a complimentary storage case. These contacts are painted by hand. 

The Halloween contacts that sell bot $29,.95 a pair are painted by machine, and do not include the complimentary storage case. 

Both types of Halloween contacts are FDA approved and safe to wear for most people. We have been selling these lenses for many years and have never received a customer complaint. 

As always, we recommend that you consult your eye doctor before purchasing anything that will come in contact with your eyes. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

In September we will open every Saturday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
