WHAT IS HAPPENING AT THOMAS FX!
If you’ve driven by recently, you may have seen a “For Sale or Lease” sign in front of our building. We want to assure you that this does not signal the end of Thomas FX - far from it! We remain financially strong, with a solid asset base and a clear vision for the future. We are simply exploring ways to better align our space with the evolving needs of the industry and our business.

The film industry has been shifting dramatically over the past few years, and like many others, we’re adjusting to meet the moment. Budgets are tighter, crews are leaner, and practical effects are being scaled back or replaced by digital tools, including AI. It’s a new landscape, and we are evolving with it.

That means rethinking how we use our space. After 38 years in our building, we simply don’t need this much room anymore. We are exploring options: consolidating into part of the building, or selling and relocating to a more efficient and accessible space in Burnaby or Coquitlam. Either way, we’re staying in the game, and staying close.

We are also continuing to sell off equipment and assets that no longer fit our day-to-day operations. This isn’t new — it’s something we’ve done for 25 years. It’s part of how we stay focused, flexible, and ready to serve the changing needs of our clients around the world.
